Key Art Awards - Enter Now!

Only 10 days left to get your sites submitted to The Hollywood Reporter's 36th Annual Key Art Awards.

C'mon, people! Enter your work. It is seriously disappointing to see that the amount of entries from last year was down 25% from the year before. You can tell yourself you're not in it for the awards, but the reality is this: The only way that our budgets are going to climb up from the paltry 3-4% is to raise awareness of the importance of new media. If you're not in it for awards, it's gotta be the money... right?

One of the best ways we can do this is by making sure that the industry takes notice of all the brilliant creative we do when they meet once a year to congratulate themselves (ourselves). So go ahead and plunk down your $200 (or better yet, ask the studio to cough it up) and enter your work. Do it right now.

After all, where would Oscar be without us?

No More New Media?

I'm mad at the HollywoodReporter.com for getting rid of the section called WEB/NEW MEDIA in their recent redesign. They say they're folding the beat into other story-appropriate sections like FILM, TV, etc., but I'm selfishly against it, cuz it's been a great resource for news, and now I'll have to troll other sections for Internet/Entertainment articles.

Plus, it's kind of a kick to the groin for us Internet folks, don't you think?

Otherwise, I'm very happy with the redesign. Big improvement!
